Maher Nameh from the USA Won $1 Million Playing Scratch Card Game

One of the latest success stories in this luck-based game is that of Maher Nameh from Palm Coast, Florida, United States. On Friday, August 11, 2023, the Florida Lottery announced that the 39-year-old had won $1 million from a $50 scratch card game. The regulated operator added that Maher opted for a one-time payment, receiving a lump sum of $640,000.

“The $50 scratch-off game, $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR launched in February and features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. Additionally, the scratch-off tickets are filled with more than $1.6 billion in cash prizes. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.”

The lucky player purchased the scratch-off ticket at J Discount in Ormond Beach. As expected, the retailer will receive $2,000 from the operator for selling the winning ticket.

Florida has recently been the main location for scratch card and lottery winners in the United States. A day before Nameh’s win, the Florida Lottery awarded Salma Farjado a $1 million prize after playing 500X the Cash scratch card game. Back in June, a 41-year-old woman, Altovise Morris, won two $1 million payouts from scratch-off games.

But these success stories cannot compare to the $1.58 billion win on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. The Florida Lottery announced that a lucky player had won $1.58 million playing Mega Millions. The lottery jackpot had gone unclaimed since April this year. The winner can claim the prize in 30 installments for three decades or choose a lump sum option of $783.3 million.
