Nicaragua is the biggest country in Central America. It is located in the center of the region, set between the North Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It's surrounded by Honduras and Costa Rica, sharing maritime borders with El Salvador and Colombia. As the largest Central American country, it occupies 130,370 sq km, making it larger than half the United Kingdom's size.
A total of 6.2 million people are living in the country. Managua, being the capital, is also Nicaragua's biggest city, with about one-quarter of the country's population living there. The languages spoken by the inhabitants are Spanish (official) and other languages such as Miskito Coastal Creole, Rama Cay Creole, Sumo, and Garifuna.
