A woman from Limerick, Ireland, has told of her disbelief after purchasing a National Lottery scratch card and winning a life-altering €200,000 payout. Initially, the woman thought she had won €20,000 on the All Cash Spectacular scratch card. The winner collected her windfall from the National Lottery headquarters.
Interestingly, the woman won the prize after purchasing a €10 scratcher on the outskirts of Limerick city, at the Circle K gas station on Childers Road. The lucky scratch card winner admitted that it took her some time before she realized how much she had won while sitting in the Winners' Room at the headquarters of the regulated scratch card operator.
"I popped into the shop to grab a drink and decided to get a scratch card while I was there. I scratched the All Cash Spectacular when I left and I initially thought that I had won €20,000," she said.
The woman said she was thrilled and satisfied with the amount, calling her friends to inform them about the win only to realize there was an extra zero!
"To think, there I was delighted with my €20,000 win when I'd actually won €200,000. It was definitely the best thing I'd ever had pointed out to me, that's for sure," she added.
However, the lucky winner said she is yet to draw a financial plan despite having a €200,000 payout in her hand.
This win comes just over a week after a lucky lady from Carlow won €250,000 playing the Money Multiplier scratch card. The anonymous local Tullow resident bought her winning scratch cards at Nolan's Mace in Tullow, County Carlow, Ireland.
While collecting her win, the woman said this was her first time purchasing a €10 scratch card. She immediately rang her daughter to tell her about winning a €25,000 payout, which turned out to be €250,000. It's her daughter who actually confirmed an additional zero on the win.
